Tell us about your cultural background/who your mob is:
I am a proud Jaru Woman from the Halls Creek region.

Tell us about your journey to football. Where did the love/passion for the sport come from?
I started playing footy when I was five or six, I went through Auskick and then did junior footy in the country before moving to Perth to play women’s footy and since then I haven’t stopped.

The passion has always been there. I can’t think of a time in my life when I wast playing footy. It’s such a huge part of my life and the passion for it is always there.


Who has been one of your biggest supporters and or Indigenous role models in your life?
As a whole, my entire family are extremely supportive and are definitely my biggest fans, especially when it comes to footy.

Why is having an AFLW Indigenous Round important for you and your community?
Indigenous Round is so important to the whole community, it raises so much awareness around educating people on culture. I think the AFL provides such a good platform us to do that and it raises conversations about cultural awareness.

The round also gives a really special reason for us to play, it means so much to both Indigenous non-Indigenous people. Particular here at the Fremantle Dockers, I know how much it means to everybody at the club.

In speaking to our ‘HEAR US’ theme, is there a message you would like to give to Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander women and girls?
Whenever you are given an opportunity you really need to take it. Use all the resources you can and reach out for support. If you love footy, keep playing it. You have got every single opportunity now and there are pathways that go all the way from juniors to adults so reach out and take whatever opportunity comes your way.

Freo's Indigenous round clash against Brisbane is proudly supported by the club’s Indigenous Program Partner, and co-major partner, Woodside. As part of this partnership Woodside works with the club on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander initiatives such as activities at this weekend’s game and also consults with the club on the development and execution of its Reconciliation Action Plan.
