The Purple Hands Foundation was born out of the Fremantle Dockers' strong desire to have an impact off the football field and harness its spirit of community and belonging to make a positive impact on key social issues.
Our programs aim to support at-risk and disadvantaged youth, particularly those coming from low socio-economic backgrounds and living in regional and remote communities.
Through the mechanism of sport, we are able to engage and connect with young people, breaking down barriers and providing non-conventional learning that is adapted to suit learning ability.
The combination of life skills, active engagement through regular school attendance, and participation in sport and after-school activities, creates a cycle of personal development, community improvement and positive social change.
