Martin Whitely was all smiles this afternoon at Fremantle Oval when he Zoom, Zoom, Zoomed away in a Mazda 2 Neo Hatch, after his 2008 Community Development Programme (CDP) Raffle ticket was drawn for first prize last week.

For taking out first prize in Fremantle’s CDP Raffle, Martin also received Fremantle Football Club personalised number plates to go along with his brand new set of wheels, a 42 inch LG plasma television, plus a $1,000 cash account from Members Equity Bank, all valued at $19,169.

General Manager Business Operations David Pitts was on hand to present the keys to a very excited Martin at Fremantle Oval on Friday.

“I am absolutely rapt about the win and I’d actually forgotten I had even bought a ticket when the phone call came in,” said Martin.

“Thank you to Fremantle Football Club, Mazda, Members Equity Bank and LG for these terrific prizes, the family are really excited.”

Martin’s son Patrick is a junior member of Fremantle, with his winning ticket purchased through Patrick’s junior football club, the East Fremantle Power.

This year’s raffle offered sensational prizes. Here is what each winner will receive;

First Prize

This years raffle was met with a great response from the Fremantle Football Club community. All funds raised go to Fremantle’s CDP which focuses on implementing long term community-based programs through interactive sessions for primary and secondary schools, Auskick centres, Junior Football Clubs and charitable organisations.

Tickets were sold amongst the Club’s membership base for $5.00 each. Various schools, junior football clubs and charity organisations became involved in the fundraising, with part proceeds going to their own organisations.

Fremantle’s Community Development Program has, in a relatively short period of time, developed into one of the leading programs within the AFL. Everyone at Fremantle is committed to the quality and success of these programmes, especially the playing group who know the important role they have to play in their delivery.
