Training report - 28 November
As many experienced players returned for another pre-season, a new generation pulled on the boots for their first training session as AFL players at Fremantle Oval this morning.
Wearing the red vests to indicate it was their opening session of the pre-season, Josh Simpson, Tanner Smith and Max Duffy ran out to join their teammates.
They looked a little bewildered at first, but after some demonstrations from sports science manager Jason Weber, the boys slotted right in with the rest of the group.
2012 Doig Medallist Ryan Crowley and David Mundy were also wearing the red for their first sessions.
The players’ skills were put to the test thanks to Perth’s unseasonal weather, which created some challenging winds out on the oval.
The elder statesmen of the club, Matthew Pavlich and Aaron Sandilands were absent.
Pavlich is recovering from recent surgery, while Sandilands’ excuse was the birth of his baby girl, Sloane Ellie, on Monday.
We’ll forgive ‘Sandi’ for that one.
