Fremantle will welcome 16 Live the Dream participants next Wednesday 18 July when the exciting program, which is proudly supported by Decmil Australia, gets underway.

Live the Dream is a once in a lifetime opportunity for 16 young Australians to become immersed in the culture of the Fremantle Dockers Football Club and ‘live the life’ of an AFL player for five days.

Live the Dream offers participants a rare opportunity to develop skills and behaviours that can deliver long-term benefits to the individual and their local community.

The program runs from 18-22 July and thanks to Decmil Australia, the cost of the program for the participants is free, including meals, accommodation and apparel.

Eight Fremantle Dockers’ players will act as mentors for the boys during the program.

Meet Matthew Piggot, one of the lucky young men who has been given the opportunity to ‘Live the Dream’.

Matthew is a 16-year-old from Meadow Springs who attends Frederick Irwin Anglican School and plays footy for the Hallshead Football Club.

Matthew said he couldn’t wait to be part of the highly skilled and motivated environment Live the Dream would provide.

“It will be of great benefit to enhance my athletic skills, leadership skills and capacity to deal with difficult situations” he said.

“It will also improve my ability to lead and assist others and help develop my communication skills.”
