In exciting news for the Purple Army, Fremantle star Kiara Bowers is set to return for the 2025 NAB AFLW Season.

Following the announcement of her pregnancy with baby boy Luca, Bowers was placed on Fremantle’s inactive list for 2024.

Head of AFLW Claire Heffernan said she was thrilled to welcome Bowers back, as an inaugural Fremantle player and a role model of the game.

“We are so excited that Turbo will return as part of our playing group next season,” Heffernan said.

“As a Club, we are proud to be able to support her; both as an athlete and as a mother as she works towards returning to play.

“She has been missed, both on and off the field during her pregnancy and maternity leave.

“Turbo, Adele, Nate and Luca are all part of the Freo Family, and we look forward to welcoming them all back into the fold.”

Bowers is a three-time All Australian (2019, 2020, 2021), has won four Fremantle Fairest and Best awards (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022), four of seven possible RAC Derby best on ground medals, and was an AFLW Best and Fairest award recipient in 2021.

The gun midfielder also holds the league-record for most tackles in a game, amassing 22 in the round 10 match against Hawthorn in Season 7, along with her 34 disposals, 184 fantasy points and 481 metres gained.

“A player of Turbo’s calibre, along with her elite training standards will be an incredible boost for our group,” Heffernan said.
