The inclusion of more players through the midfield over the pre-season has been made easier by the presence of Nat Fyfe and David Mundy according to midfield coach Marc Webb.
While Webb acknowledged the individual abilities of Fyfe and Mundy, he also praised their ability to teach younger players.
“It’s great having such quality players like Nat and Dave,” Webb said.
“Like others, you integrate them but they also take a lead role in what we do.
“It’s their leadership and ability to bring in players that might not have played midfield before.”
Webb said it wasn’t one-way traffic, with new faces in the midfield bound to help improve the entire team.

“We keep evolving, and its important to keep getting player through those positions to help out,” he said.
“It helps with players who may be sat on quite a bit, and gives them the flexibility to play other positions.”
While the pre-season had been beneficial, Webb said the Freo players were ready for the NAB Challenge, beginning this Friday night against Richmond.
“It’s exciting, the players can really feel that the games are here,” he said.
“We’ve been playing each other for the past few weeks, it’s been teammate on teammate.
“Now it’s about making sure that what we’ve worked on over the past few months, we can bring to life in the game."
