Speaking at his Tuesday afternoon media conference, explosive defender Jordan Clark said the playing group took learnings from a lengthy game review of the weekend’s loss to Essendon.

“JL (Justin Longmuir) touched on it after the game that there would be some learnings from that, and that’s exactly what it was (the game review),” Clark said.

“We went through a few moments and last quarters have been a little bit of an issue for us of late, and we just touched on a few things that we can tidy up.

“Thankfully they're not major sort of problems, they are just marginal little things that we can tidy up pretty quickly.”

Essendon kicked five of the last six majors on the weekend, coming from 20 points down to defeat Fremantle by one point.

When questioned if the defeat was an ‘opportunity missed’ Clark made note that the playing group felt that way after any loss.

“I suppose you could say any game we’ve lost this year is probably a missed opportunity and you want to win every game you're a part of.

“We’re still in a great position and that’s something we are really excited about.

Our destiny is in our hands now.

“I think we are all looking forward to it and it makes for a bloody good end to the year.”

Following the disappointing round 21 result, Fremantle now sits in sixth place on the AFL ladder, only four points behind the second-placed Brisbane, and four points ahead of the ninth-placed Essendon, with Clark looking to the weekend’s crucial clash with Geelong as a chance for redemption.

“(We want to respond) with a win, it’s pretty simple I think,” Clark stated.

“We’ve had a decent record against the Cats, and we love playing against them because they are one of the best teams in the competition and have been for over a decade.

“We are looking forward to taking them on on our home deck and getting a few things right that we got wrong on the weekend to try and get back on the winners list.

“Why shy away from moments like those? These are the games you want to play in, and this is the position you want to get yourselves into.”

Fremantle have currently won the last three consecutive meetings with the Cats by an average of 13 points.
