The AFL has released the round one fixture with Fremantle taking on St Kilda on Sunday March 19 in a twilight game at Marvel Stadium.
Fremantle were due to open the season at Optus Stadium however the venue is not available for AFL games that weekend.
Bounce down for the Marvel Stadium clash is at 4.40pm.
Fremantle CEO Simon Garlick said Fremantle was excited to get the season underway.
"It’s disappointing for our members and fans that we won’t be hosting a round one fixture at Optus given the last time we opened the season was 2019," Garlick said.
"It’s out of our control unfortunately but we will continue to work with our stakeholders in Venues Live and the AFL to ensure we can get as many preferred fixtures as possible in 2023 and beyond.
"From a football point of view St Kilda will be a great first test for our team who will be ready and raring to go in round one."
