It’s finals time!
The regular season came to its conclusion with a loss to North Melbourne by the narrowest of margins last week but that was quickly put behind us as we focus on the exciting task ahead.
Losing three games all season by a total of 17 points was the difference between at least one home final or heading on the road but we are looking forward to the challenge ahead.
Melbourne at Casey Fields is one of the biggest challenges in the AFLW but we have great memories of a victory over the Demons at our last trip to the ground.
We love getting away as a group and performing on the road and feel that it galvanises the team in a manner that is perfect for finals football.
The downside to interstate finals is that we will miss you, our loyal members and supporters.
We know that so many of you ride every bump with our team and we love hearing the noise the Purple Army make at Fremantle Oval and Optus Stadium when we play at home.
We know that we’ll have a loyal contingent out at Casey Fields and for those back in Perth, your messages of support and encouragement have already reached the team and we will feel your presence as you tune in to the TV to see the girls give it their best shot this weekend.
This is a milestone fifth year in the competition and we know that some of you have been on the journey from the beginning. We can’t thank you enough for sticking with us through those tough early years and hope that you are enjoying the brand of footy that we are playing at the moment. There is nothing like the excitement of a cut-throat final to get the blood flowing and we hope to make you proud in the coming weeks.
Go Freo!
Trent.
