Fremantle have notified the WAFL that the Club will appeal the charge of striking handed to forward Josh Treacy following an incident in Peel’s pre-season clash with Perth on Saturday at David Grays Arena.
The incident occurred in the first quarter involving Perth’s Brady Grey.
The WAFL match review panel classified the incident as intentional, high contact and medium impact.
Based on that classification, Treacy was handed a three game suspension, down to two with an early plea.
As Fremantle have decided to challenge, Treacy will face the full three-game suspension if it is upheld.
The tribunal hearing will occur at 6pm Wednesday.
