Ball-winners who hit the scoreboard are invaluable, and there were several in the past week. Ablett wound back the clock with another vintage display, Stephen Coniglio kept pumping up his contract value, Mitch Robinson has been a great pick-up for Brisbane and Port Adelaide will hope Sam Gray keeps up this form in the absence of his namesake, Robbie, who is set to miss a month with a broken hand. Adelaide co-captain Taylor Walker booted four goals in his side's critical win over St Kilda and Joe Daniher won an engaging duel with Darcy Moore.
A couple of big-name off-season recruits are firing: Lachie Neale and Dylan Shiel. It seemed Liam Shiels didn't miss a beat on return from a hamstring strain while Brandon Matera is in career-best touch for Fremantle.
