Fremantle High Performance Manager Phil Merriman says ruckman Sean Darcy (ankle/knee) and midfielder Hayden Young (hamstring) will both be available to make their long-awaited returns to football this weekend.
“Exciting news for the Freo fans to see those two players get out and play footy,” Merriman said.
“They’ll be available this weekend.”
Young suffered two minor hamstring strains during pre-season, while Darcy has recovered from surgery to remove a screw that was causing infection in his ankle.
Coming off a win in the RAC Derby, Fremantle now face the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium on Sunday.
Running defender Corey Wagner, who was a late out ahead of the RAC Derby, will be a test to play, provided he gets through main training on Thursday.
“He just had a minor calf complaint on the weekend,” Merriman said.
“We are really no risk with Corey, so he’s going to have to get through the week of training this week and then will be a test to play.”
Pressure forward Sam Switkowski remains on track for a Round 5 return after injuring his groin in the season-opener.

“It’s looking like Gather Round for Switkowski,” Merriman said.
“It’s been a tad slower than we would have liked, and again we are no risk with Switta.
“We are hoping to have him back around Gather Round.”
Merriman confirmed forward Sam Sturt has been battling a knee issue, with the 24-year-old set for a stint on the sideline, while Brandon Walker (shoulder) will undergo surgery on Wednesday.
“He’s (Sturt) building his loads through straight-line running at the moment, and we will have a better idea of timeframes over the next week,” Merriman said.
“He’s (Walker) in for surgery tomorrow.”
“He’ll get through that process (surgery) and we will know more about timeframes for his return within the week.”
