Fremantle midfielder Andrew Brayshaw is looking forward to breaking his milestone game voodoo on Sunday, with a win over the Bulldogs in his 150th career game.
Speaking at his Tuesday media conference, Brayshaw revealed that he was yet to win a major milestone game, having suffered defeats in both his 50th game against Carlton in 2020 and his 100th game against Collingwood in a Semi Final in 2022.
“I haven’t won a milestone game yet, so fingers crossed we can get the win this weekend,” Brayshaw said.
“We lost with a kick after the siren in my 50th and then lost in a final in my 100th.
“They’ve been big games and exciting games, but I haven’t been able to get the four points yet.”
Brayshaw will become just the 23rd player in Fremantle history to play 150 career games for the Club and will be one of only four active players on the 2025 list to have reached the milestone, something the 25-year-old says he doesn’t take for granted.
“It’s pretty special to get to 150 (games),” Brayshaw said.
“It makes you eligible for life membership with the footy Club, which is pretty cool.
“I hear there is a lunch every year that is good fun to attend, so hopefully I’ll be there at the end of this year.”
Sunday’s match against the Dogs will be the 78th time the midfielder has played at Optus Stadium, averaging 25.03 disposals at the venue, and will be the 12th time he has faced the Bulldogs (the second most out of any club in the competition).
Brayshaw said his midfield cohort is expecting another tightly contested battle in the middle despite the Bulldogs missing some of their key figures, including captain Marcus Bontempelli.
“Libba (Tom Liberatore) has obviously had a really hot start to the season,” Brayshaw said.
“But they’ve got a number of really strong players in there (midfield).
“Their midfield pressure and ball use is really strong, and I think it’s going to be pretty similar to the weekend (RAC Derby) where we want to try and win the contest and that physical battle, and hopefully from there we can win the game.”
Fremantle will look to add their second win of the season and their first in front of the home fans on Sunday. Bouncedown for the Round 4 meeting will be at 3.10pm WST.
