Pavlich, McPharlin survive DT cut
Club Captain Matthew Pavlich and Luke McPharlin were last night named in the Dream Team’s 30-man squad for the May 10 Hall of Fame Tribute Match against Victori
The original squad of 40 was culled yesterday by the Dream Team selection panel of Coach Mark Williams, assistant coach Neale Daniher and captain Andrew McLeod, with players from 11 clubs chosen to make up the squad.
Luke remains under a fitness cloud after sustaining a corked buttock in Fremantle’s match against Melbourne yesterday at the MCG, while Matthew emerged unscathed from the clash with the Demons after booting five goals to be named as Fremantle’s best on ground.
Should the pair make the final line up they will be pitted against Assistant Coach Chris Scott who was last week named as one of Victoria’s Assistant Coaches for the match.
The team will gather in Melbourne for training at the MCG on Wednesday May 7 and Friday May 9, before the final team of 25 (18 plus seven interchange) is named the day before the game.
