Geelong rookie Jonathan Simpkin will play just his fourth game of AFL football on Saturday night in the Cats elimination final against Fremantle.
Simpkin was best on ground for the Cats VFL unit against Port Melbourne last week.
He amassed 30 possessions and kicked four goals for the Cats.
Simpkin replaces Steve Johnson who was rubbed out for a week by the Match Review Panel for his bump on Swan Dan Hannebery.
The Cats have named David Wojcinski, Cam Guthrie and Josh Walker as emergencies for the game.
