The pair make their regular season debut after crossing from Collingwood and Essendon respectively during last year’s Trade Week. Tarrant has been named at full-forward and Solomon on a half-forward flank.
It will also be a first for Matthew Pavlich – his first official game as Club Captain, after performing the role on seven occasions as stand-in skipper in the absence of Peter Bell.
A first also for the Fremantle faithful will be Pavlich and Tarrant combining up forward in the Purple Guernsey for the first time for four competition points.
Andrew Browne has been named on the interchange bench in what will be his first game since round 22, 2004.
Browne has been hampered by a wretched run with injuries for the past two seasons, but his perseverance has been rewarded by a call-up to the senior team after showing outstanding form in the pre-season matches.
Another in good form has been James Walker, who earns a recall for his first game since round 12, 2006.
