Midfielder David Mundy says five Fremantle players’ inclusion in the 40-man 2015 Virgin Australia All Australian squad is testament to the club’s good season.
Mundy, Nat Fyfe, Lachie Neale, Garrick Ibbotson and Stephen Hill made the squad that will be reduced to a final 22 on Tuesday 22 September in Melbourne.
Fyfe is the only of the five to have made the team previously.
“It highlights that we’ve had a fairly good year,” Mundy said.
Five named in All Australian squad
“Hopefully, a few can make the side.”
Mundy (30) is the most experienced of the group, with Neale the youngest at just 22.
The former said it was pleasing to see the club’s emerging stars acknowledged.
“Lachie Neale has come on a lot this year and is really dominating,” Mundy said.

“He has been a vital cog in our midfield.
“Hilly’s had a consistent couple of years, it’s good he’s getting the recognition.”
The All Australian selectors were not asked to nominate the leading players in each section of the field - forwards, defenders and midfielders / ruckmen – but simply to name the best players of the season.
The final 22 will be selected to best-fit team balance as if to play a match.
