Fremantle ruckman Aaron Sandilands has set a new club record for the most hit-outs in a season and could be the first VFL/AFL player to break through 1000.
Sandilands has won 915 hit-outs this season, already surpassing his previous best and the club’s best of 890 set last year.
North Melbourne’s Todd Goldstein is the only player with more hit-outs this season, with 937.
Both are on track to break the 1000 mark in the finals, it would be the first time a player has done so since hit-out records began in 1982.
