It is fair to say that Matthew Pavlich is a barometer at Fremantle.

Each time the club games record holder has kicked two or more goals this season Freo has won.

Last year, Pavlich kicked two or more goals on 14 occasions; nine of those were in Fremantle wins.

Pavlich booted 18 goals in the first seven rounds of 2015 and kicked just seven since then.

He is averaging just under 14 disposals per game, a reasonable number for a key forward, and clunking an average of five marks each week.

Pavlich told Seven News on Wednesday that his form reflected that of the team’s in recent weeks.

“I think my form is pretty reflective of the group in general over the past five or six weeks,” he said.

“It hasn’t been to the standard that we’d have liked and that includes my form.”

Pavlich said the team’s ball use and opposition tactics had seen the club’s performance drop off.

“We haven’t moved the ball anywhere near the way we’d like,” he said.

“The opposition has scouted us very well."

However, Pavlich said forwards were often judged soley goals, when there were other key statistics such as tackles.

“There are other attributes and parts to their game we should value more,” he said.
