Fremantle will come out firing up after it had its “pants pulled down” against Hawthorn last week, according to midfielder Michael Barlow.
Barlow told Channel 9 on Wednesday that the side was eager to get on the field and make amends for its 72-point loss to the reigning premiers in Launceston.
“It’s one of those games after you get your pants pulled down, like we did on the weekend, that the game can’t come quick enough,” he said.
“We’re looking forward to getting back out there as soon as possible.”
Barlow said ball use remained an area to improve, as well as converting inside-50s into scoring opportunities.
“We’ve been getting the results up until the weekend and getting the four points but not playing the way we’d really like,” he said.
“(We’ll) train on some of our deficiencies.”
While Carlton may sit near the bottom of the ladder, Barlow said he expected a fired up side come Saturday night at Domain Stadium.
“Carlton will come over red hot,” he said.
“Under John Barker they’ve been absolutely super and shown a massive amount of improvement.
“We’ll be fully armed and ready for a fired up Carlton.”
Fremantle play Carlton at Domain Stadium on Saturday 18 July. Bounce down is at 5.40pm.
