The Fremantle Dockers will search Australia-wide to secure a highly skilled person to fill the newly created position of high performance manager - coaching.
The high performance manager’s primary focus will be the ongoing education and development of the club’s coaching team to ensure they deliver the highest standard of coaching to the playing group.
The successful applicant will report to general manager of football operations Chris Bond.
Due to the nature and requirements of the role, Bond said the club was seeking applicants from both within and external to the AFL system.
“The position of high performance manager is certainly a new role at Fremantle,” Bond said.
“We have done a lot of work on how best to ensure the ongoing growth, development and education of both our coaching team and playing group, and we believe that securing the right person for this new position will play a key role in achieving that aim.
“The person who is the right fit for the position could be working in another sporting code or in a corporate role and outside of the AFL system. Whatever field the person is from, a sound knowledge of sports science, psychology, coaching, education and leadership is desired.
“They would also have an understanding of the principles of a high performance environment in either the sporting or corporate world.”
