The captains of all 18 AFL clubs descended on Etihad Stadium for the AFL’s annual captains poll, and the Fremantle Dockers featured heavily in the results.
The AFL captains saw Fremantle as a unanimous finals favourite, with all club leaders voting for Freo to make the top eight in 2016, with three captains also voting for Freo to make the Grand Final.
It wasn’t just team achievements that were voted on, as Nat Fyfe received the nod from three captains to repeat his impressive 2015 form and become the first back-to-back Brownlow Medallist since Robert Harvey in 97/98.
While Fyfe was a popular pick, he wasn’t the Brownlow favourite, as Patrick Dangerfield received four votes and Gary Ablett and Dan Hannebery shared second spot with Fyfe with three votes each.
