Fremantle is searching for two extra goals per game this finals series, according to senior coach Ross Lyon.

In the first nine rounds of the season, Fremantle was undefeated and kicked an average of 14 goals per game.

From round 10 to round 23, the side kicked an average of 12 goals per game.

It is a statistic Lyon is well aware of.

We're ready: Lyon

“We lost two goals a week on average from earlier in the year,” he said.

“That’s our aim but time will tell, if we can get those two goals back.”

Fremantle’s forward firepower will be boosted with the return of captain Matthew Pavlich, Chris Mayne and Michael Walters this week.

Hayden Ballantyne is also a chance to play after tearing his pectoral tendon in round 16.

Pavlich (39) is leading the club’s goal kicking this season while Walters (38) and Mayne (26) complete the top three.

Matt Taberner was a shining light in Saturday’s 69-point loss to Port Adelaide and may play as the second tall forward, with Jon Griffin already ruled out.
