Midfielder Andrew Brayshaw has praised key forward Josh Treacy’s form, as the hot-handed 22-year-old kicked a career-high six goals, four of which came in the first half, in Fremantle’s 61-point victory over the Tigers.

Fremantle generated 20 of the last 23 scores in the game and kicked 12 of the last 13 goals in a dominant performance, after leading the Tigers by just 10 points at the main break.

It is the second time in the last three weeks that Fremantle have kicked over 100 points.

“We knew they (Richmond) were going to come out firing," Brayshaw said post-match.

"They’re a really strong contest team, so we knew they’d try to throw the first punch, and they did, kicking a couple early, but we were able to wrestle momentum back in our favour.

“Honestly, you can pretty much do anything at the moment with him (Treacy).

"You can put it out in front and he’ll lead up and take it, or you can put it on his head and he’ll work his player under the ball.

“He’s got some of the strongest mitts at the Club, so we just put it in his airspace and let him do the rest.”

Hayden Young, Sean Darcy and Sam Switkowski all made their returns to the AFL side for the win after recovering from their respective injuries.

Young’s return was highlighted by a thunderous goal from outside 50, which lifted the Barossa Park fans to their feet.

Darcy battled hard for his 25 hitouts and nine disposals against the colossus that is Toby Nankervis, while Switkowski added his trademark pressure with five tackles in his return.

“Sean was huge today. He competed all day, and that’s all we needed from him,” Brayshaw said.

“To see Youngy go forward and kick a couple of goals was awesome as well.

“It’s good to have a few of our big boys back.”

Fremantle now travel straight to Melbourne to face the Demons on Saturday 19 April at the MCG.

“It’s a tough one, we go straight to Melbourne, we won’t go back to Perth,” Brayshaw said.

“We love travelling, we do it a lot, and we’ve got our routine really down pat.

“I know Melbourne haven’t started the way they would have wanted to, but at their best they are a really hard team. So we’re going to have to lock in, be strong in the contest again, and hopefully get the win.”

It will be one of Fremantle’s only two trips to the MCG in the home-and-away season.
