Fremantle High Performance Manager Phil Merriman says the Club will have to wait before establishing a timeline for midfielder Jaeger O’Meara’s return, after he injured his hamstring and foot in Saturday’s loss to the Demons.
“It was a bit of a difficult one for Jaeger — he’s had a little tweak of his hamstring and in the same incident he’s actually hurt his foot,” Merriman said.
“We are working through the scans and going through that process at the moment.
“We’ll know more in the next few days.”
Will Brodie did not feature for Peel Thunder at the weekend, with Merriman confirming a calf injury for the midfielder.
“Just a small calf strain (for Brodie), which will probably keep him out for this week,” Merriman said.
“We should see him back on the field next week.”
Meanwhile, veterans Nat Fyfe (hamstring) and Michael Walters (knee) continue to progress in their recoveries, with Merriman confirming an estimated return date for Fyfe.
“Fyfey is going well. He’s begun his on-field running progressions, so he’s looking at about five to seven weeks,” Merriman said.
“Sonny (Walters) hasn’t quite made it on-field yet.
“We’re hoping to get him there later in the week.”
In positive news, ruckman Luke Jackson (hamstring) is another week closer to making his football return.
“He (Jackson) won’t be playing this week. He would have been close, but we are preparing him to play the following week,” Merriman said.
