Small-forward duo Michael Walters and Hayden Ballantyne put their hands up for selection for Saturday’s Qualifying Final against Sydney during training on Tuesday.

The pair are a crucial piece of Fremantle’s forward-line jigsaw and showed why during the sessions in warm conditions at Fremantle Oval.

Both ran hard and showed off their natural goal-sense, appearing to have shaken any lasting injury effects.

Ballantyne has not played since he tore his pectoral tendon in round 16 against Carlton.

While Walters missed the final two games of the home and away season with a calf injury.

Senior coach Ross Lyon confirmed on Monday that Walters would play but Ballantyne was not a certain starter.

Cam Sutcliffe, who dislocated his shoulder against Melbourne in round 22, trained and is expected to be available for selection.

Hayden Crozier was limited to running along the boundary while Anthony Morabito continued to increase his running load.

Ruckman Jon Griffin ran laps earlier in the morning as he recovers from a hamstring injury.
