FREMANTLE midfielder Nat Fyfe faces missing the last two rounds of the home and away season after being offered a two-match suspension for an off-the-ball strike on Hawthorn's Jordan Lewis.

Fyfe has been charged with a Level Three Striking Offence (225 demerit points, two match sanction) for striking Lewis during the first quarter of Fremantle's win over Hawthorn on Sunday at Patersons Stadium.

Due to his previous poor record, the penalty of two matches must remain at two matches, even with an early plea.

The MRP classified the incident as intentional, low impact and high contact.

Fyfe's poor recent record (he was suspended for two matches earlier this season) means he cannot escape a two-game ban even if he pleads guilty.

If he accepts the punishment, he will miss Freo's last two home and away games against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba and Port Adelaide at Patersons Stadium.

Fremantle has until 9am on Tuesday to decide if it will challenge the charge.
