Opposition analysis has become a critical component of modern AFL but it does not play a huge part in Fremantle’s weekly build up.

Senior coach Ross Lyon said the club spends 90 per cent of the week focusing on areas it can improve and just a fraction on that week’s opposition.

“90 per cent of the week is about our footy,” he said.

“We drip feed that into improving us.

“We continue to improving our football but respect the opposition and prepare equally for whoever we’re playing.”

Lyon said he was impressed by the Western Bulldogs form this year, but had not spent much time reviewing them.

He said they are a tough challenge.

“They’ll be looking for our scalp as much as we’re looking for theirs,” he said.

Fremantle play the Bulldogs on Sunday 17 May at Etihad Stadium. Bounce down is at 1.10pm local time.
