Defender Cam Sutcliffe has been named Fremantle’s most underrated player by Fox Sports.

Sutcliffe was described as a “no-nonsense defender that plays his role each and every week”.

The South Australian recruit was taken as pick 71 in the 2011 draft and has become a regular under senior coach Ross Lyon.

He has played 53 games and become a staple of Freo’s back six.

The article, by Riley Beveridge, said Sutcliffe was highly rated at Freo and is enjoying another outstanding season.

It comes after emerging midfielder Lachie Neale was named the AFL’s most underestimated player by Hawthorn legend Dermott Brereton.
