Fremantle has confirmed a squad of 26 players set to take on Melbourne in Sunday’s AAMI Community Series match at Rushton Park in Mandurah.
After featuring for the Indigenous All Stars in his first official hit out since joining Fremantle, fans will be treated to seeing Shai Bolton line up alongside his new teammates in purple for the first time.
Two weeks after captaining the Indigenous All Stars, Michael Walters will also line up ahead of his 17th season with the Club.
Forward Sam Switkowski has been named after successfully passing through concussion protocols following the knock to the head he received early in the All Stars match.
New draftee Murphy Reid will line up for the side, named on the eight-man bench alongside Bailey Banfield, Neil Erasmus, Nathan O’Driscoll, Corey Wagner, Michael Walters, Karl Worner, and Pat Voss.
With Club captain Alex Pearce (ankle) and Josh Draper (hamstring) both sidelined for Sunday, young defender Hugh Davies will join key pillars Brennan Cox and Luke Ryan in defence.
Pearce and Draper both remain tests to play in Round 1.
The match will be the Club’s final pre-season hitout before facing Geelong in Round 1 at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday 15 March.
The game will be played over four 20-minute quarters, including time on, with clubs able to use their extended eight-man interchanges at their discretion.
Sunday’s bouncedown is scheduled for 3.10pm WST, with fans able to catch all the action live on Fox Footy and Kayo.
General Admission tickets are available for the match via Ticketmaster.
