Defender Garrick Ibbotson says Fremantle’s current group can produce better football and there is no need for major personnel change.
Fremantle was knocked out of the 2015 premiership race by Hawthorn in Friday night’s Preliminary Final at Domain Stadium.
Ibbotson said the group spent time together over the weekend but was yet to review the game.
“Once the group is back together, we will review the game properly and implement what we need to,” he said.
“(But) I don’t think it is all personnel.
We've fallen short
“We can definitely move the ball better than we have and deliver the ball to our forwards better than we have.
“As defenders we can definitely move the ball out of the defensive 50 better.”
Ibbotson said the side had proven during the year it could score prolifically and had the personnel to do so.
“We need to score one or two more goals, that was the same last year,” he said.
“We spent time in the pre-season working on that and our ball movement, that’ll be on the agenda again during the pre-season.”
Talking points from Prelim
Ibbotson said the loss was still raw but it was already time to focus on next season.
“We’re disappointed still, we saw it as a missed opportunity,” he said.
“We spent some time together over the weekend but we have to move on.
“We won’t dwell on it long.”
