Ed Langdon is likely to miss Saturday’s clash with Brisbane at the Gabba, meaning at least one change is expected to Fremantle’s starting 22.
Peel lost to Subiaco by four points on Saturday at Rushton Park, with a number of players putting their hand up for selection.
Fremantle will name a final 22 on Thursday at 4:25pm (WST).
Tommy Sheridan
Sheridan has played five WAFL and four AFL games this season and his 29-disposal effort at half back for Peel against Subiaco was one of his best for the season.
Sheridan took 11 marks and made six tackles and was highlighted by Ross Lyon as the most likely replacement for Langdon.
“Tommy will probably come in,” said Lyon at his weekly media conference on Wednesday.
“He was probably our best (playing for Peel)…so he should be getting himself ready to play AFL footy.”
Sean Darcy
Darcy featured strongly for Peel against Subiaco with 49 hit outs and three contested marks.
With Lyon ruling out an Aaron Sandilands return, the door remains slightly ajar for the young ruckman to make his debut.
Lyon stated a preference for Jon Griffin to continue as Freo’s lone ruckman in Sandilands’ absence but acknowledged that Darcy remains a chance.
“Sean’s really growing but Jon took some marks around the ground, his ruck work was really competitive and I would think (Griffin) would continue,” Lyon said.
“(Darcy’s) probably a chance but we’re still finishing the review.”
Danyle Pearce
Pearce racked up eight clearances, seven inside 50s, five tackles and 27 disposals in an impressive showing for Peel on Saturday. The 253 AFL game player has featured in five games for Freo this season, averaging 18.6 disposals and 3.8 tackles.
Garrick Ibbotson
Ibbotson has featured in all but one AFL game this season, named as an emergency for Fremantle’s clash with Collingwood last Sunday. The half back has averaged 14.4 disposals over his 10 games this season.
