Peel Thunder lost a tight contest in a rematch of the 2016 WAFL Grand Final, going down to Subiaco by four points on Saturday at Rushton Park.
Twelve Fremantle listed players featured in the contest and development coach Marc Webb ran through how they fared.
Tommy Sheridan
Played half back for the game and had 22 kicks and 11 marks. He was really strong with his rebound from half back and was good in the contest.
Danyle Pearce
Played on ball for the day and had 27 possessions. Danyle was solid with his body work, with eight clearances and used the ball effectively.
Josh Deluca
Played inside mid for the game and had eight clearances. Josh was really strong with his tackling and work rate around the contest with seven tackles.
Taylin Duman
Played half back for the first half and moved onto the wing. He showed some really good run from the wing and had 17 kicks while working well with his positioning as a defender.
Girffin Logue
Played in the backline on Subiaco’s Clancy Wheeler. It was a tough contest, with Griffin ending up with eight kicks, six marks and an important goal in the last quarter.
Nick Suban
Played wing and forward. He started slowly but was important with his pressure around the contest and grew into the game, ending up with six marks.
Brennan Cox
Played back for the game and had five marks. He rolled off quite well and defended strongly.
Sean Darcy
Played in the ruck for the game and had 49 hit outs, in what was a good contest with Subiaco’s Lachlan Delahunty. Sean provided some good use with his ruck work and took three contested marks, which was a strong part of his game this week.
Sam Collins
Played back and spent the majority of the game on Subiaco key forward Ben Sokol, restricting him to two goals. Sam read the ball well, rolled off to spoil well and took eight marks in support of the defence.
Zac Dawson
Played forward for the game. He was really strong with his lead-up, his pressure and his work around the contest and finished with one goal.
Ryan Nyhuis
Played back on Subiaco forward Liam Ryan, keeping him to nine possessions and one goal in a good performance defensively on the WAFL’s leading goal kicker.
Luke Strnadica
Played forward and ruck. Had 17 hitouts and showed some strong work in the centre square bounce and around the ground with his ruck work. He took two strong contested marks.
