Andrew Brayshaw said he’s never been tempted to head home to Victoria, saying he couldn’t be happier at Fremantle as he prepares for his 100th AFL game.
The stakes couldn’t be much higher for the 2022 MVP, with Fremantle taking on Collingwood in a semi final on Saturday night at the MCG.
After being drafted at no.2 in 2017, the 22-year-old said he feels like Fremantle is his home.
“I’m glad I’ve stuck it out. I’ve fallen in love with this Club and my teammates,” Brayshaw said.
“It’s never really been a question (heading home), the people around me have really helped support me through my first five years and I have no intention of leaving.”
After four years without finals, Brayshaw is thrilled that his and his teammates' hard work is paying off.
“It’s been great but definitely been a grind,” Brayshaw said.
“Looking back on my first couple of years, there were some challenging periods getting beaten convincingly some weeks and struggling with form at times.
“I’ve found some consistency this year and I’m really happy with individually how I’ve been playing and the group as well, we’ve been able to front up week to week which is really exciting.
“I’ve enjoyed the grind and I’m really excited for tomorrow night.”
