Fremantle’s Irish recruit Sean Hurley says he is learning something new about football each and every day.
Hurley is nearing a year in the AFL system after he was taken at pick 48 in the Rookie Draft in 2014 and has been learning his craft with Peel Thunder in the WAFL.
His first few weeks of the season were tainted by injuries, but he has strung together a number of games since then and is learning quickly.
“I’m getting a few games under my belt in the forward line,” Hurley said.
“I’m just trying to improve and learn little bits each day.
“Every game and every week that goes by, I am trying to learn something new from it.”
Hurley said grasping the skills of our Indigenous game was becoming easier but he was still mastering the tactical side of footy.
“The AFL lifestyle is not easy, it’s pretty intense,” he said.
“The amount of time we go through the game plan here is sensational compared to home.
“The game plan at home might drop a few guys back but over here you might be two yards away and be in the wrong position.
“It’s really enjoyable though because you are always on your toes and thinking of what you can do to improve.”
