St Kilda shocker still hurts Dockers
The West Australian
Fremantle midfielder David Mundy has described last year’s shock round-18 loss to St Kilda as a blip on the radar, but admits it still burns as the teams prepare to meet again at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
The Dockers could be boosted by the inclusion of Brownlow Medal favourite Nat Fyfe, who completed a lengthy fitness test at Fremantle Oval yesterday.
Fyfe missed last Sunday’s 21-point win over Greater Western Sydney with a groin injury and was rated a 50-50 chance of a return this week by coach Ross Lyon on Tuesday night.
The 23-year-old completed 50m and 150m runs, agility testing and short kicking.
Fyfe gives Freo fitness hope
The West Australian
Nat Fyfe has completed an extensive fitness test at Fremantle Oval today, raising hopes Fremantle's raging Brownlow Medal favourite will return against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Fyfe missed the Dockers’ 21-point win over Greater Western Sydney at Domain Stadium on Sunday with a groin injury and coach Ross Lyon said last night he was only a 50-50 chance of returning against the Saints.
But Fyfe was putting his best foot forward under the watchful eye of sports science manager Jason Weber today ahead of the club’s main training session on Friday.
Fremantle shouldn’t rush Nat Fyfe back from injury even if it costs them a game, says David King
Fox Sports
North Melbourne champion David King believes Fremantle should let Nat Fyfe rest and heal from his groin injury as long required, even if it costs them a game late in the season.
Fyfe missed last Sunday’s game against GWS, the first game he didn’t participate in for the season, after being announced as a midweek omission.
He remains under an injury cloud for this week’s game against St Kilda.
