Luke McPharlin will train on Wednesday and is on track to play against the Western Bulldogs on Sunday.

The experienced defender was ruled out of Saturday’s 28-point win over Essendon due to calf soreness last week.

Fremantle sports science manager Jason Weber said McPharlin pulled up sore after the trip back from Melbourne in Round 5.

“At this stage he is preparing to train tomorrow and we’ll see how he pulls up from that,” he said.

Defender Zac Dawson may be available to play for Peel Thunder this week, after several weeks of recovery from a groin injury.

“Zac trained really hard over the weekend, he’ll be assessed during the week with hope he’ll be available,” Weber said.

Alex Silvagni (hamstring) and Michael Apeness (knee) are in rehabilitation for longer-term injuries.
