As a young defender still building as an AFL player, Griffin Logue would be careful to argue with senior coach Justin Longmuir on too many topics.
One area the 23-year-old has made an exception is his passion off the field, coffee.
Such a coffee snob is Logue, he generally avoids going to a café as he only trusts himself to make the coffee the right way.
“I’m a big fan of a nice blend, nice coffee. Small flat white and extra shot,” Logue said in the latest episode of Old Bull, Young Buck.
“I don’t trust anyone else making my coffee.”
Old Bull, Young Buck co-host David Mundy decided to push Logue’s buttons.
“What do you think when JL walks past with his third Nescafe of the morning?” Mundy asked.
“I will happily sell out this man for drinking these coffees,” Logue said.
“He drinks Nescafe Blend 43, I know what it looks like, I don’t know what it tastes like, I know what it smells like!
“It is just sawdust and hot water I’ve decided. I’ve told him, you could get it from Bunnings as it’s just sawdust in the bottom of a cup, hot water.
“And he skulls it! Six or seven a day, it’s unbelievable. It’s just shocking.”
Logue said Longmuir was beyond help when it came to coffee.
“I’m very particular who I make my coffee for. I love it so much and if there’s no-one that respects it enough, then I won’t make them one. It’s plain and simple,” Logue said.
“He’s used to drinking Blend 43, if I make him a flat white he won’t understand.”
