A large shipment of Fremantle apparel and football gear is on its way to the Club's NGA zones in the Kimberley and mid-west, as well as internationally, as the Club looks to use its discontinued apparel and equipment to help grow the game.
Freo’s Community Engagement team have been the driving force behind the initiative, and a huge response by staff and players has resulted in one of the biggest shipments the club has undertaken in recent years.
It will be distributed to Geraldton and Broome, before being allocated to individual remote communities, spreading the purple across regions, where it is most needed and can be used to assist the growth of football in WA.
The shipment will also support the efforts of Fair Game, a club associate charity partner that distributes football boots and sporting equipment to communities across WA.
A further consignment is also being sent to international partner club, the Port Moresby Dockers.
Head of community engagement Simon Eastaugh was proud of how the Club has come together for the initiative.
“It’s really important that the Fremantle Football Club can support our communities, particularly in our NGA zones and International partner clubs,” Eastaugh said.
“An initiative such as this has involved every member of our playing list and staff, showing how much the club’s support extends in providing resources for remote communities in WA”
“Our club is extremely proud to be able to distribute such a large shipment of Fremantle Dockers apparel and boots to our fans, and the hope is that this will continue for many years to come”
