- Why running is so important to Freo this pre-season
The full Fremantle squad were reunited for the first time this pre-season as the remaining 13 players in quarantine returned to training on Friday.
Adam Cerra, Caleb Serong, Hayden Young, Andrew Brayshaw, Lachie Schultz, Lloyd Meek, Sam Sturt, Sam Switkowski, Taylin Duman, Darcy Tucker, Matt Taberner, Sean Darcy and Josh Treacy joined the rest of the Fremantle squad after completing their quarantine.
New development coach Joel Corey oversaw his first training session at Fremantle after returning from quarantine.
The session wrapped up a successful first week back in the football program for Alex Pearce.
The 201cm defender moved freely and appeared unaffected by the ankle injury that ruled him out for the 2020 season.
In many football drills, Pearce was matched up on Matt Taberner with the two big-men going head to head throughout the morning.

Defender Heath Chapman continued to show why Fremantle snapped him up in the first round of the 2020 draft, taking part in the full session and demonstrating he was building the fitness required to compete at AFL level.
Chapman earned the praise of senior coach Justin Longmuir for his clever positioning and leaping mark to secure a ‘point’ in one drill that focused on ball movement.
The drill also saw veteran Stephen Hill show promising signs. After Taberner took an intercept mark, Hill helped score a point by sprinting to out-mark two opponents.
His classy kicking also helped set up his team to score later in the drill with Longmuir praising his former teammate’s efforts both times.
Sam Switkowski was most dangerous on defence with his tackling stopping a number of teammates in their tracks, including chasing down the speedy Michael Frederick. After taking a big bump from ruck Lloyd Meek, Switkowski quickly returned the favour by wrapping up the big man with the help of Brennan Cox.
Griffin Logue showed plenty of aggression in the contest, palming off an attempted tackle from Blake Acres before taking on Nat Fyfe.
Brayshaw impressed with his pace through the pack while Serong was also present and won plenty of the ball.
Separate from the main group, midfielder Darcy Tucker made a low-key return to the club with some running and fitness work as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.
