As Fremantle look ahead to a season full of promise, they have launched their 2021 membership campaign with a slogan that fits – The Future is Here.
Since Fremantle last made finals in 2015, the club has seen a significant turnover of personnel both on and off the field.
Fremantle now have the youngest list in the competition and, under senior coach Justin Longmuir, they head into 2021 with a mix of star power with two-time Brownlow Medallist Nat Fyfe and potential with the current NAB AFL Rising Star winner Caleb Serong.
It also includes recent All Australians Luke Ryan and Michael Walters, emerging senior players in Matt Taberner, Darcy Tucker and Alex Pearce as well as up and coming stars in Adam Cerra, Andrew Brayshaw, Griffin Logue, Hayden Young, Liam Henry, Sam Sturt and Michael Frederick, just to name a few.
In 2020, Fremantle’s AFLW team appeared on the cusp of greatness with a 7-0 record before the season was called off due to Covid-19.
It’s a record they achieved with the likes of Roxy Roux, Mim Strom, Sabreena Duffy, Jasmin Stewart and Bianca Webb supporting established stars in Kiara Bowers, Kara Antonio, Ebony Antonio, Gabby O’Sullivan, Hayley Miller and Gemma Houghton.
Freo’s new TVC highlights the excitement building around both Fremantle’s AFL and AFLW teams as the nation’s media takes notice of the excellent culture and excitement building out of WA’s port city.
As well as the new slogan, Freo have incorporated the visual elements of what it means to be a Fremantle player, with sea container textures to highlight the determination and hard working nature of the current group.
Fyfe added that there was much more to the club than just the playing list, paying tribute to the support the club has received in recent seasons.
“What we’ve seen from our fans in terms of their passion and commitment to our club has been nothing short of inspiring,” Fyfe said.
“It’s helped the players, coaches and everyone else involved realise how lucky they are to be a part of the Fremantle Dockers.
“I can’t wait for it to continue in 2021.”
