Young Freo stars Andrew Brayshaw and Adam Cerra have both earned nine coaches’ votes following Fremantle’s 16-point win over the Hawks on Monday night at Optus Stadium.

Seven Fremantle players in total polled votes in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award, meaning all of the vote-getters for the game wore purple.

Brayshaw, who had a career-best 33 disposals for the game, led the way for Freo in the midfield going at 84.8% disposal efficiency and finished his night with 11 contested possessions, five score involvements and nine ground ball gets.

Adam Cerra was equally as influential with his 26 disposals and eight marks and gave Freo fans plenty to get excited about with his class and composure under pressure. 

Since being drafted together in 2017, the pair have played 100 AFL games between them, with Monday night’s game arguably their best together as they combined for an impressive 59 disposals.

Nat Fyfe (four votes) had an influence wherever he was on the ground with his 28 disposals, 14 contested possessions and one goal, which came after a brilliant back with the flight mark in the first term.

Caleb Serong (three) continued his first-year dominance in Freo’s midfield with his team-high six clearances and 20 possessions, half of which were contested. 

David Mundy (two), Sean Darcy (two) and Nathan Wilson (one) were among Freo’s other vote-getters, with Darcy and Wilson both having one their best games of 2020.
