Pat Voss' three-match suspension has been upheld by the AFL Tribunal in a hearing on Tuesday evening.

Voss will now miss the Club’s Round 6, 7 and 8 fixtures before he is again eligible for selection.

The forward was cited for striking Richmond’s Nick Vlastuin during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s clash, with the incident graded as careless conduct, severe Impact and high contact.

Fremantle’s basis for the challenge primarily focused on arguing that the impact of Voss’ strike should have been graded as ‘high’ rather than ‘severe’.

Fremantle Executive General Manager of football Joe Brierty acknowledged the AFL Tribunal’s decision, but expressed the Club’s disappointment in the outcome.

“We respect the Tribunal’s decision and pass on our best wishes to Nick Vlastuin, however, we are disappointed that Pat will be unavailable for our next three fixtures,” Brierty said.

“We will take some time to review this decision, meanwhile, Pat will remain with the main AFL squad in Melbourne for the week and continue to do everything he can to help his teammates prepare for the upcoming clash with Melbourne at the MCG.

“The Club would also like to acknowledge the services of Tim Hammond SC and thank him for his efforts at tonight’s hearing.”
