Fremantle will welcome 16 Live the Dream participants next Wednesday 18 July when the exciting program, which is proudly supported by Decmil Australia, gets underway.

Live the Dream is a once in a lifetime opportunity for 16 young Australians to become immersed in the culture of the Fremantle Dockers Football Club and ‘live the life’ of an AFL player for five days.

Live the Dream offers participants a rare opportunity to develop skills and behaviours that can deliver long-term benefits to the individual and their local community.

The program runs from 18-22 July and thanks to Decmil Australia, the cost of the program for the participants is free, including meals, accommodation and apparel.

Eight Fremantle Dockers’ players will act as mentors for the boys during the program.

Meet Alan Lester, one of the lucky young men who has been given the opportunity to ‘Live the Dream’.

Alan is a 17-year-old from Newman who attends Newan Senior High School and plays footy for the Newman Junior Football Club.

Alan said he looked forward to discovering what the day-to-day routine of an AFL footballer was like.

“I can learn the skills of independence and dedication and also absorb leadership skills from the Fremantle Dockers players,” he said.
