Training Report: 5 December 2012
It was 3km time trial time again at McGillivray Oval
Skipper Matthew Pavlich was on hand to watch the boys gut it out in the gruelling stamina test.
In the absence of Freo endurance guns Sam Menegola and Tendai Mzungu, Michael Barlow took line honours ahead of Ryan Crowley.
Barlow will know he can go even faster, considering he misjudged the finish line by a few metres and cost himself a couple of seconds.
Behind the lead pairing was draftee Tanner Smith, who looked completely spent following his impressive effort.
Josh Mellington was another to give everything he had, including his Powerade, which he threw up at the completion of the trial.
It was heartening for the squad to see its captain back out on the track following an off-season back procedure.
Pavlich walked 1km of the oval, but he never stopped encouraging his teammates as he did it.
Anthony Morabito, Stephen Hill and Jon Griffin were among other players present, however they did not run the time trial.
