The 2019 Doig Medal Presentation Dinner will be held on Saturday 5 October in the Grand Ballroom at Crown Perth.

This week, fremantlefc.com.au will be running through the players in contention to take out the club’s most prestigious award.

Season summary
Not only did Walters lead Fremantle’s goal kicking with 40 majors this season, he was one of team’s most prolific midfielders.
He averaged more disposals, contested possessions and clearances than any other AFL player who kicked more than 25 goals in 2019.
Two of the highlights of the year came off Walters’ boot, with his winning scores against Brisbane and Collingwood coming in back-to-back weeks.
Walters season was recognised with All Australian honours at half-forward, his first in his career.

Best game: Round 13 v Port Adelaide
Walters entered the game having kicked the winning scores in consecutive games, but against the Power, he went to another level.

The small forward kicked six goals to go with his 25 disposals in an effort that was called one of the best individual performances in the AFL in 2019.

During the clash, Fox Footy commentator Nick Dal Santo called Walters the ‘best left foot kick in the game’.

Walters was rewarded for his efforts with three Brownlow Medal votes and he this clash seems most likely to get the maximum ‘25’ from the coaches at the Doig Medal this year.
