East Fremantle Primary School students were treated to a special excursion this morning when they came to Fremantle Oval to join in the fun of the open training session.

After cancelling their sports carnival due to bad weather, teacher Paul Emery decided it would be a good idea to bring the students into Freo.

“I couldn't get the day off work so I thought I'd bring the whole school down with me,” Paul said.

“Most of the kids are Freo fans, so we gave students the option to come, and 99 per cent of them took it up.”

The primary school will continue to show their support to the team during the week.

“Everyone at the school loves Freo, on Friday we are going to have a Purple Haze day and we plan to make the whole school purple,” he said.

Among the 150 students was 12-year-old Jesse Dart, a former Number One Junior Ticket Holder of the club.

He was excited as ever about his favourite team taking to the MCG this Saturday.

“It's an incredible experience, honestly I cannot remember a time where Fremantle has been this exciting,” he said.

“I would much rather be here watching training than be in class, this is so cool.”
