Fremantle forward Chris Mayne and defender Zac Dawson have committed to the club by signing contract extensions.

Mayne, 24, agreed to a three-year extension that will see him remain at the club through to the end of the 2016 season.

Dawson, 27, will be a Fremantle Docker until at least the end of the 2015 season after he signed a two-year extension.

Fremantle general manager of player management Brad Lloyd said the club was pleased to shore up the futures of two valued members of the squad.

"Both players are very important components of our structure," Lloyd said.

"Chris had an excellent 2012 playing as a forward, and Zac was part of a solid defensive group that really grew as a unit last year."

Mayne was selected in the 2007 AFL Draft (pick 40) and has played 81 games since making his debut in round 2, 2008.

Following a tremendous 2012, the forward has been added to Freo's leadership group this season.

Dawson joined the club for the 2012 season after three years at St Kilda, where he appeared in three AFL Grand Finals.

The defender was selected by Hawthorn in the 2003 AFL Draft (pick 41). He played 14 games for the Hawks, 63 at St Kilda, and 18 last year for Freo.
