Hayden Ballantyne has described Saturday’s qualifying final win over Geelong as “without a doubt” the best win he’d ever been involved in.

Fremantle marched into the fortress that is Simonds Stadium and defeated the Cats by 15 points to earn a home preliminary final.

Ballantyne said his teammates were “brilliant”.

“We were unwavering all day and we got the result that we wanted,” he said after the game.

“Every player plays their role and that's how we beat teams. There's 22 brothers out there all working against the other team so we all play our role and we normally get the results.”

He repeated that message on Channel 9 on Monday night.

“All 22 players just put in 100 per cent effort, and that’s what we stand for, anywhere, anytime,” he said.

“It was unreal to get the victory down at Simonds Stadium against such a great team in Geelong.”

Ballantyne said he and the other players would be watching Saturday’s Sydney-Carlton clash, from which the winner will face Freo at Patersons Stadium.

“Ross (Lyon) would expect us to watch the game,” he said.

“We’ll analyse as best we can and we’ll see what Ross has to say about whoever we match up against in a prelim.”
